TikTok, the popular social media platform, has introduced a new way for users to choose their profile pictures using AI Avatar (Artificial Intelligence). This feature has been rolled out to TikTok users, offering them the opportunity to create their profile pictures through a generative AI system within the app. As of Tuesday, May 30, 2023, the Avatar AI feature is available for users to try on the TikTok version 29.7.4 for Android devices. Users can find the Avatar AI feature in the "Edit profile" menu on their profile page. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create a profile picture using AI Avatar on TikTok:


1. Open the TikTok app

To get started, launch the TikTok app on your mobile device.


2. Go to the "Profile" menu

Navigate to the "Profile" section within the app.


3. Click on "Edit profile"

Locate and tap on the "Edit profile" option.

4. Select the "Create avatar" option

Choose the "Create avatar" option from the available choices.


5. Click on "Get 30 avatars"

Select the "Get 30 avatars" button to proceed.


6. Choose 3-10 photos to use as AI avatars

Pick 3-10 photos from your gallery that you would like to transform into AI avatars.


7. Ensure that your face is clearly visible and not cropped

Make sure that your face is clearly visible in the selected photos and not cut off.


8. Select 2-5 preferred AI avatar models

Choose 2-5 AI avatar models that you prefer from the provided options.


9. Your chosen photos will be transformed into AI avatars

The photos you selected will be transformed into AI avatars based on the chosen theme/model.


10. Wait for approximately 20 minutes for the AI avatar creation process

Allow around 20 minutes for the AI avatar creation process to complete.


11. Voila! You will receive 30 AI avatars

After the process is complete, you will receive a collection of 30 AI avatars.


12. Choose one avatar

Select one avatar from the collection.


13. Click on "Use for profile" to set it as your TikTok profile picture

To set the chosen avatar as your TikTok profile picture, click on "Use for profile."


14. Alternatively, click on "Download" to save the 30 AI avatars to your phone's gallery

If you wish to save all 30 AI avatars to your phone's gallery, click on "Download."


Please note that users can only create AI Avatars on TikTok once per day. The 30 avatars created through the generative AI system will be stored on TikTok for 7 days before being automatically deleted.
